Our aim through this innovative art competition is to unify the public and the business community that shapes Melbourne - It’s appearance and lifestyle through a tapestry of stories and perspectives - and to get them to participate in the debate ‘What is Melbourne?’
The SIGNATURE OF M art competition will explore and summarize perspectives and emotional values, it will define the architectural, cultural and the commercial landscape that shapes this unique city in today’s times through art.
The SIGNATURE OF M ART PRIZE with its $150,000 first prize and a total prize pool of $180,000 will be one of the largest art projects in this nation’s history. The winning artwork will be auctioned with all profits going the AFL Foundations 'Ladder Project'.
Hundreds of key Melbourne Companies and businesses will unite with the SIGNATURE OF M project. From the winning artwork, Melbourne’s historic emblem will form to become a permanent fixture in many of Melbourne’s key locations, from major banks and Corporations to Real estate agencies, niche restaurants and local retail shops. Melbourne's personal signature is guaranteed to generate extensive public exposure nationally and internationally, and with time will become a lasting icon.
